Tomorrow is Thanksgiving… a day to rest and relax, watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and eat yourself silly. Today, however, today is just a regular day. Except that it isn’t.
David is off work today. The kids are off school today. This, however, does in no way mean that MOM is off work.
In fact, MOM has more work than she knows what to do with. In the past few days, I’ve gotten more work flooding my email in-box than I can comprehend. Deadlines are looming and while the rest of my family sits in front of the TV still in their pajamas at 10:00am, I have already showered, dressed, eaten breakfast, picked up photos from a friend and braved the crowds at Trader Joe’s to get my Kosher turkey that I had in no way planned to get.
That’s right. While we are actually heading to a restaurant for our family Thanksgiving dinner (don’t get me started), Temera decided she wanted to put all her new-found cooking talents to work (she took an amazing cooking class at Williams Sonoma) and prepare Thanksgiving dinner… all by herself… on Friday. Awesome. Except that I now have to run around town gathering up ingredients that can NOT be found at my local market. Roasted chestnuts. Dried mushrooms. Kosher turkey (thank God for TJ’s). Apple sausage. WTH? I was supposed to be “off” this Thanksgiving.
And while I’m running around town, I STILL have to meet my deadlines.
There is chaos in my house today. The TV is on way too loud. The dishes are piling up. I’m trying to get a blog post in here and there… this is it guys, take it or leave it.
Oh, yea… Happy Thanksgiving!

My blood pressure went up just reading this!
Take a moment to b r e a t h e…
Temera taking on such a venture is great news! I hope you see this as an opportunity for a blog post. Can’t wait to see what the budding chef comes up with.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope tomorrow is a little slower! My dad decided to go to the store today and I just laughed. Happy Thanksgiving!
