Amanda (10) wrote this for me a few days ago. I received her full approval to post it. I’m not sure I could have said anything better today. I’ll be spending the day cooking and grateful that I am able to provide my family with a big Thanksgiving dinner.
I Am Thankful
I am thankful for the work my Dad has and he can get money to give to my Mom to pay for the things me, my father, herself and my sisters need. And I’m glad to have 2 sisters and to be the middle sister. I am happy that my Mom can pay for school for me to learn and grow up strong and healthy and to be able to talk, walk, speak, breath and hear. My life wouldn’t be the same living on the street and to have no things to help me like some people in places and not to live in a slave area. Sometimes my family makes me not happy but I still love them and they adore me. I am thankful for my house and room and a bed and desk with books, a computer, food, a trash can, a guitar and iPod Touch. But, if I didn’t have those things I would still have my family that will be here for me when I need them. And to be able to write and know what I’m writing.
P.S. I am thankful for a lot of things and they all count.
Love, Amanda

I kind of teared up reading that — so I can only imagine how you feel. Love that kid! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your whole family!

I read this blog post (out-loud) to my hubby…followed with, I “wish all kids…older kids…were this grateful and kind.” You are blessed…and I am VERY HAPPY that you are. Happy Thanksgiving my friend.
