Motorola Bionic #MotoCalyp #cbias

David’s cell phone is breaking down on him. It freezes up and shuts off automatically. Annoying. Mine did the same thing before I got a new one in August. David’s due for a new phone in about a week so we’ve been looking at all the options out there. The big decision is whether to stick with an Android like he has now, or go with an iPhone. He really likes his Droid, though, so we decided we’d take a look at the Motorola Bionic.

Since he already has an Android, it wasn’t too much of a stretch to figure out how to use the Bionic. We did our research before we went to the store and were aware of many of the features. Motorola has an amazing website where you can compare all their phones. Check out my Google+ story to see my research and shopping experience.

I usually hate going into the Verizon store because it’s always so crowded, but luckily we hit it on a good day and were helped right away. I asked to see the Bionic and while the saleperson showed me right to the display, she also started telling me all about the Razr. I realize the Razr is the newest Droid phone available, but I came to look at the Bionic and wanted her to focus on the phone I was really interested in.

The Bionic is pretty cool. I love the 8 mega pixel camera and the digital zoom. Even my iPhone doesn’t have that. Of course, the big draw is the 4G. Faster browsing and it can be used as a hotspot. I really, really love that!

I found this great YouTube video demonstrating the Bionic. It makes so much more sense when you actually see everything it can really do.

I have to admit I was pretty impressed with the Bionic. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. It’s flashy, has 4G and a great camera. The apps are amazing and I always thought the Android had much better navigation programs than even the iPhone.

The cost for the phone is kind of pricey since even with a 2-year contract you will still be paying $249.99. The Razr run about $50 more but I don’t see the need to spend the extra $50 just for the Razr when the Bionic does all the same things.

I completely agree with your assessment! The Razor is a hot device, but I found the price of the Bionic to outweigh the flashiness of the Razor!
