I’m Making My Coffee Healthier with Coffee-Mate #NaturalBlissWM

How many times have I started a blog post with, “You know how much I love coffee, right?”

Okay, more times than I care to count. It’s my go-to beverage every morning. I drop the kids off at school and I come home and sit at my computer with a steaming cup of coffee. Flavored coffee. It’s my addiction. This is what you would normally find in my refrigerator.

I do love to experiment with different flavorings and I’ve tried them all. Occasionally I’ll just drink it with some milk or cream, but that extra burst of flavor really helps start my day. Coffee-Mate recently came out with a new line of coffee creamers… Natural Bliss. I’ve seen them in the market before but until I was asked if I would give them a try, I wasn’t sure I was okay with the “Natural” part of it. Natural usually means tasteless to me. But… I’ve really been trying hard to eat better and one of the things I am determined to do is not eat so many “unnatural” and “processed” foods. Translation: If I can’t spell or pronounce it, I don’t want to eat it.

I decided to give this natural thing a try and picked some of the creamers up at Walmart the last time I was there. Take a look at my shopping trip on Google+.

I ended up getting three different flavors to try: Vanilla, Sweet Cream and Caramel. All of them have the same four ingredients.

Nonfat milk, heavy cream, sugar and natural flavors. That’s IT! And I can spell and pronounce all of them. Now, the only downside is that this is NOT a non-dairy creamer, so if you have lactose issues this probably wouldn’t be for you. But… even though I have had some lactose issues before, usually a few tablespoons doesn’t hurt me. I feel a lot better knowing I’m eating real food rather than fake food.

So I’m on a mission to test out all the flavors I purchased and see how they stand up to my regular coffee creamers. My refrigerator now looks like this.
