I love my children. I love my husband. But I really, really love my peace and quiet.
Monday morning. Kids at school. Husband at work.
The house is mine.
As mother’s we get so few moments to ourselves. Even when we are “alone” we are usually doing, running, driving, shopping, planning for others. How often do we ever get the chance to do something for no one else but us? A manicure, a pedicure, a massage. A movie, a cup of coffee, an ice cream cone. A hot shower, a cold dip in the pool, a walk around the block.
My goal for Monday mornings? Find something, just one thing, that is all about me. Do something for myself. Read a book, watch a favorite TV show, take a nap.
Come on… you do it to. Tell me your favorite thing to do when you get that rare few moments to yourself. Really… I want to know.
Nice!
I totally feel you on this one.
Realistically, I set aside time to watch The View.
Rarely, maybe 3 times per year, I manage to treat myself to a professional pedicure.
Now that the kids are older my 'me' time is blossoming. And this is a very good thing.
Before you know it you'll have more time on your hands.
For me it is reading. On Monday mornings I go through the whole house picking up clothes, shoes and random things that do not belong to me and put them into my childrens bedrooms. Then once the house is picked up and put back together, I sit down, relax, and read a book.
I totally hear you on this. When I get free time I use it to blog. Otherwise, I read. If I get a chunk of time then I like to have some girl time either at the movies or the nail salon. Pedicures are AWESOME. My favorite is the sea salt part. At my salon it costs $5 extra but it's so worth it.
It's funny, I have more time to myself this year than I did last year and yet it's still never enough time to relax a little.
