Big thanks go out to Mary Tran and the Nederlander Organization for providing me complimentary VIP tickets to see Carly Rae Jepsen at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
WHAT? Who’s that woman standing next to my kid?
Sunday night, I took all three of my girls to the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles to see Carly Rae Jepsen. For Amanda and Lauryn it was their very first concert. Ever! When you go to your very first concert (EVER) and get to meet the artist, you know it’s going to stick with them the rest of their lives.
I’ve never been to the Greek before. Shameful, considering I’ve lived in Los Angeles for 25 years. I don’t know why I hadn’t been there, but I was so missing out on something special. I’ve been to the Hollywood Bowl many times (which I love), but there is something different about the Greek Theatre. It’s smaller, more intimate and the people just aren’t as crazy. Yes, there were a LOT of tweens running around, but there was a great energy and everyone was respectful and had a lot of fun.
We got to spend some time in the Hospitality Suite before the concert started. The girls thought they were pretty hot stuff.
Hot Chelle Rae opened for Carly Rae and someone needs to tell me how on earth my kids knew all the words to most of their songs? Honestly… I need to start listening to tween pop radio way more often.
If you want to get an idea of the energy at the concert, here’s a little taste.

I love Hot Chelle Rae! How fabulous!
I was actually surprised that I knew some of their songs. Amanda knew all the words… cracked me up!
I would feel like a pretty big deal if I was in the VIP area too 😉
Looks like you all had a great time!

Aww! Love the pic of us with Cynthia! 🙂
What a great, great night! How special. I really enjoyed this post! So cool there was a “meet & greet”.
