There was a reason I threatened to never go on a road trip with my family again. Too bad I didn’t remember what it was BEFORE we left the house. The day started off as most of our days do. Somehow I managed to get all three girls and myself dressed, fed and and into a packed car by 9:00 am. And then we waited. As we always do. For Dad.
But leave we did.
Los Angeles to Las Vegas with a stop for lunch at The Mad Greek in Baker, California. A few gyro’s, falafel, Greek salad and we were good to go.
We even managed to get here without one “Are we there yet?” Did manage to get a lot of “Are we at least halfway yet?” and “Tell me when we are in Nevada.”
Had a swim, some dinner and a really amazing Green Tea Latte and back to the room to give the kids the “lecture”. You know… the one about how we are in a HOTEL room. There are people above us, people below us, people on both sides of us. Keep QUIET or everybody will hear you… and might even wonder what the hell is going on in the room next door. Not good to be kicked out of a hotel.
On tap for Day 2… Las Vegas to Salt Lake City. I’ve never been before so I’m actually looking forward to our big one night stay.
