I’m kind of glad Halloween is over. I love the build up to it… the decorating, the planning, the costumes… but I really (REALLY) hate the parties, the endless amounts of candy, and the meltdowns that come after all is said and done. Oh… and teenagers… I hate teenagers coming to my door late at night dressed in costumes that only 5 year olds should be wearing… or else skimpy costumes that I myself wouldn’t be caught dead in.
This year the girls talked me into having a party. I’m seriously hoping that some of you reading this will remind me next year how much I don’t ever want to have a Halloween party again and make sure I don’t go crazy and decide to do it anyway.
So I did my best Martha Stewart impression and threw together a fun spread: eyeball punch, witches hat cookies, worms & mud, and little mummies (otherwise known as hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls). Oh… and I actually made chocolate dipped prezels.
I had a bunch of games for the kids ready to go and then wouldn’t you know it… as soon as they all get here they head straight to the bedrooms to play. Really? No fun games? No prizes? Nope… they just wanted to “play” together. Easy for Mom. (If I didn’t go to all the stress and trouble of putting the damn games together!) And of course, in the midst of all the festivities (and me going crazy because those damn hot dogs took forever and a day to make) I forgot to actually take some decent pictures of the kids in their costumes. Figures!
So… the following are the pictures I did get.
Temera in the Flapper Costume
Lauryn in her Cheerleader Costume
Amanda as a Vampire (with the red collar)

It looks like a great party! I really like the food spread. The remember the few photos you got were way more than many of us got in our childhoods so don't sweat it. I have 1 photo per year in my costume… and with little money I wore many of them over and over, and no Halloween parties. You did great!
Yum!
As I told you earlier, you did a GREAT job honey! You are "Super Mommy!"
your party looks like it was seriously so much fun! great job on the martha impersonation (lol) and now you can relax, put your feet up and munch on one of those treats- yum! 🙂
You have quite the talent for whipping up some treats for those tricksters.
