Back in the day (and it was a LOT of days ago) I used to frequent the club scene in Los Angeles. I know, hard to believe, isn’t it? Wait! Why is that so hard to believe? I moved to Los Angeles 25 years ago and was young and single and I loved listening to new bands and hanging with my friends on a Saturday night. Once the husband and kids came along, my clubbing days were curtailed, but I still love finding a new group or a new song that really speaks to me.
Los Angeles is full of new groups, and full of supremely talented musicians who move around a lot and form new groups, only to break up and form new ones. One of the big, new groups to have formed a few years ago is Vintage Trouble. Despite the fact that I kind of love the name (and wish I had thought of it myself), the members have all been successful musicians in other bands before they got together to form this one. Ty Taylor, Nalle Colt, Richard Danielson and Rick Barrio Dill intended to lay down a few tracks over at The Bomb Shelter Studio to use as a demo, but the songs were so good that they ended up as a CD titled, “The Bomb Shelter Sessions.”
Now available on iTunes and Amazon, the album is a mix of rock/blues that reminds me of the music I listened to when I was younger. Somehow my iPod became full of Disney and Nickelodeon teenage pop. MUST DELETE THE TEENAGE POP. It’s time to take back my iPod!
iTunes here I come. I downloaded The Bomb Shelter Sessions: Encore album.
You’ll find the original album AND the Encore Edition. The Encore has 4 more songs (and of course more is better).
Sunday mornings are my family’s time to chill out, have a big family breakfast and listen to music. No TV on Sundays for us. It’s all about the music… introducing our kids to the kids of music WE like. So, of course, I put on a little Vintage Trouble and got busy making pancakes.
At first, my kids were like… “What is this?” With face cringes.
By the time the chocolate chip pancakes were inhaled, they were all rocking out to the songs. Amanda, my 10 year old, is the musician in the family. If she gives it the thumbs up, we know we’re good.
VINTAGE TROUBLE are going to be on the Jay Leno show TUESDAY NIGHT (January 15) at 11:35 EST/10:35 CST.
Watch and then go download their new album!
Follow Vintage Trouble on Twitter and Facebook to keep up with all the latest album and tour information.
