Disclosure: I was offered a complimentary course by You @ the Center in exchange for promotion. All opinions are entirely my own and I promise to be as open and honest about this process as I possibly can.
I never really bought into the idea of life coaching before. I mean, really… do you need someone to tell you how to live your life? Well, apparently I kind of do. In fact, when I stumbled upon You @ the Center, I realized that being coached isn’t about telling you how to live your life, it’s more about giving you the tools to create the life you want.
If you know me at all, you know how I have a piece of myself in about a million different things. Okay, maybe not a million, but enough different areas to make me get a little crazy every now and then. I realized a long time ago that I thrive on deadlines and I often do my best work when I’m under pressure. The problem is, I end up always feeling under pressure because I have no idea how to manage my time. Being pulled in so many directions isn’t fun after a while… and it leads to not sleeping, bad health, frustration, anger, and general all around being miserable. Who needs that?
Rachel Davis came into my email box at the perfect time. Rachel has created this amazing 100 day program (yes, you read that right… 100 DAYS!) that helps people “design their life from a holistic perspective - increasing their inner awareness, as well as enhancing the practical performance of their life - ultimately building a deeply satisfying and sustainable lifestyle.”
It’s a lot to take in, but in a nutshell, I’m banking on Rachel to help me figure out how to do all the things I want to do without ending up crying in a ball on the floor.
So, back to that 100 days thing. It’s a long time to focus on me on a daily basis. I’m starting to wonder if I’ll just get so sick of myself. I’ve been thinking a lot about one of the questions I’m going to be asked on Day 1: Do you think you’ll be able to complete the 100 days? I’d like to say yes, but I’m not sure I’ve done anything for 100 days… except maybe eating, brushing my teeth, nursing a baby. Can I really hash through the muck that is my life and get it all sorted out? Sure I can. I think I can. I sure as hell hope I can.
So please be honest with me… have you ever consulted a Life Coach? I’m not talking about a shrink or a therapist. I mean someone who has been trained in helping you realize your goals, getting organized, and learning how to live a sustainable life? I love that term: sustainable life. We all know how to manage ourselves for a few days, a week, even a month. But we also know we can’t realistically keep the pace up for the rest of our lives. I’m sure hoping that after 100 days, I’ll be happier, less stressed, more successful, healthier, and live my life on an even keel.
Check in with me… I’ll be sharing a little about this process. Because it’s not the destination… it’s the journey.

I used to “poopoo” the whole life-coach thing. But it was a big eye-opener and an even bigger help for me once I locked in with my life coach. I can’t believe how much she has helped me.
