So There’s This: I’m Going to the Grammy’s

I was invited to attend the 2014 Grammy Awards by MasterCard. I was not required to write or promote either MasterCard or the Grammy’s in any way and no compensation was provided.

You certainly don’t see this tweet come across your Twitter stream every day.

 

But let me back up a bit…

Last year I was invited to go to the Grammy Awards Red Carpet via MasterCard and Collective Bias. It was tons of fun; we sat in the bleachers right next to where the celebrities were being photographed by the paparazzi. We got to see them close up and personal and it was quite the experience. 

This year I guess I’m taking a step up and I’ll actually be sitting inside of Staples Arena, watching the entire awards show. I’m not sure the shock has worn off yet… I’m still waiting to wake up and have someone tell me it’s all a dream. Because, in fact, it has ALWAYS been a dream of mine to go to an awards show. I just never thought it would happen.

So… with those two little words… “black tie”… I knew I couldn’t just pull any old thing out of my closet. I purchased an actual gown (never owned a gown in my life) and thanks to BFF Jodi, I found a new pair of fancy schmancy shoes. Oh yeah… got a new clutch to go with. 

I’ll save the big reveal for tomorrow, but just to give you a tiny hint of what I’ll be wearing…
