We finally did it. We applied for a FedEx Small Business Grant for our business, SoCal Lady Bloggers. Wow… that was huge. It meant finally making a big public announcement that we are officially a business. The grant winner will receive $25,000 for their business. Runner up prizes are $5,000 and $1,000. Just filling out the application was a step I wasn’t quite ready to take even a few months ago.

The only thing I don’t like about this particular grant is that FedEx is requiring we get votes. I HATE voting contests. Usually I hate them because the winner is based solely on how many people they can get to click on the link every day. Thankfully, the voting is not the only factor in how FedEx determines the winners. In fact, this is only the first round.

Voting takes place up until February 23 and you can vote once per day. After the finalists are chosen, we’ll have another round where each applicant has to write an essay. Those are NOT voted on.

So… while it kills me to ask, I’m asking. We need votes. PLEASE.

Follow the link and just click VOTE. Help us take SoCal Lady Bloggers to new heights.
