Change. Change is good. Except when it isn’t.
Facebook changed and then changed again. Twitter changed and then changed again. Blogging platforms changed and keep on changing. Are we any better off with the current changes than we were when we first joined in? Not really. Maybe blogging has become much more sophisticated, we can do more things and have more control over our websites, but honestly… content is content. If it’s bad, it’s bad and no amount of fancy shmancy bells and whistles is going to change that.
I have the same friends on facebook I always had. I have the same followers on twitter I always had. The only difference is that now I have to work twice as hard to find them. I have to work twice as hard to keep the people I don’t want out. I’m now trying to figure out if I should be “liking” or “subscribing” or “friending” or “following” people. Is GFC (Google Friend Connect) going away or is it here to stay? And what’s up with Google+ ? I have it because people said it was the next big thing. I don’t know… is it catching on? I keep forgetting I have it so I don’t post anything and then I start to think what am I bothering for? But you know me… I have to be on the cutting edge of this social media thing. I’m the go-to person when anybody has a question about facebook or twitter or Google+ or LinkedIn. The pressure is on to keep on top of all the changes.
It’s exhausting.
I don’t mind change when it makes sense, when things change for the better. But these changes? Not so sure things are getting any better. More bells and whistles… content still the same.

I understand completely. I try to stay on top of the social media craze. However, I just can’t keep up with the changes anymore. I wish if a platform has a plan to make changes, they do it all at once as opposed to changes one month, the more changes 2 months later 😉
But that’s just my preference.
