For someone who lives in Southern California, I certainly don’t get to the beach very often. Okay, truth be told… we never go to the beach. Not because I don’t like the beach. I adore the beach. The sea, the sand, the surf. Love it! The reason we don’t go is because despite the fact we are Southern Californians, we don’t exactly live near the beach. It takes a good hour to even get to a beach (and that’s without traffic). Believe me, if I could live at the beach I would. Right there… where if I step out my back door I’m literally ON the sand. Ahhhh…. someday.
Thursday we went to the beach. Really… we did. And it was fabulous.
We went with some friends up to Carpenteria, a lovely, family-friendly beach and let’s just say that all three kids passed out in the car on the way home… and I didn’t tweet/FB/text/email all day long. ALL. DAY. LONG. I think this was a record. Yes, people… it CAN be done. I spent the day enjoying watching my kids soak up the beach as if they had never been to a beach before. Which, they kind of haven’t. Unless you count one day in Hawaii when they realized the beach was way more fun than the hotel pool.

Yea takes us about an hour too and then it will be really hot and sunny at our house and then cloudy and cool at the beach. Plus all the sand that ends up everywhere. But yet we still like it
Being without social media for a day is quite an accomplishment. Feels nice to disconnect! Love your pictures BTW.

Thank you. It WAS nice to just completely disconnect from the phone and computer. I need to try and do that more often.
