Amazon: You’ve Disappointed Me

I am not a big fan of Amazon. In fact, my displeasure with them has gone from bad to worse. I might just say that I’ll never buy from them again. I’d say it, but then I’d probably need something and end up ordering it. I think I still have a gift card balance.

It all started with them canceling my Amazon Affiliate status. Remember that debacle several months ago? They decided to cancel the status of all Californians without any warning all because our legislature was considering charging sales tax on the items we had a hand in selling. So they wrote us off without a warning and then decided they would allow us to come back as an affiliate for one more year until California got it’s act together and decided that they would go ahead with the sales tax thing. In which case, Amazon would cancel us out again. No thank you.

So keep in mind Amazon wasn’t my favorite business to begin with.

When Scary Mommy announced her book was pre-selling on Amazon, I ran to the website and ordered. At the same time, I also ordered the pre-sale of The Bloggess‘ book. Two books. Two different release dates. I waited.

Scary Mommy’s book was released and still my copy sat in some Amazon warehouse. I was not happy. I sucked it up and figured out that since they were sending it for free (since I purchased both books at the same time, I was eligible for their super saver shipping) they were waiting for The Bloggess’ book to be released. I was pissed, but I understood to some extent.

I waited.

So yesterday, April 17th, was the release date. As on today, April 18th, I have no book. Neither of them. My books never shipped.

Now, the whole purpose of ordering a pre-release is to be able to get your hands on the book the DAY it is released. And Amazon has the reputation of shipping out pre-orders several days before they are released so you actually received them ON release day.

I still have no books.

WHERE THE HELL ARE MY BOOKS??????

I am NOT happy.

It’s not worth the money I saved ordering from Amazon when they won’t even ship my books on time.

Never again will I order a pre-release from them. EVER EVER EVER EVER!

And authors… you should be aware that this is happening. Because I’m pretty sure I am NOT the only one who didn’t get her books. Did I mention they haven’t even shipped yet??????

To rub salt in the wounds, I opened my email this morning and found this…

Amazon actually had the nerve to email me a list of books they thought I would like!!!! And Jenny Lawson’s book “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” is ON THE TOP OF THE LIST!!!!!

Seriously, Amazon? You are recommending I purchase this? HOW ABOUT YOU CHECK MY OPEN ORDERS AND JUST MAIL ME MY PRE-ORDERED BOOK?????
