Today was supposed to be the start to my 2014 organizing plans. Well, it still is, but PLANS HAVE CHANGED, PEOPLE!!!
Yesterday, as we were talking about making this house function better… and figuring out where on earth we were going to put the new treadmill we plan to buy (because we are SO the new year cliche), I completely changed my mind about where everything was going and what MY office was going to be. Remember those nasty pictures? David and I have been sharing a space for years, but I hardly ever work in there. Partly because it’s a mess, and partly because I just don’t like it. I like sitting at the kitchen table, or on the couch, or in my bed, with my laptop. My files and notebooks tend to go upstairs to downstairs and get moved around so much that they are never in the place I need them to be.
So… what to do?
I am doing what I do best… re-arranging my entire house to accommodate MY needs.
Lauryn’s bookshelf is moving up to my bedroom, where I will organize a kick-ass work-space for myself. My desk will be moved into Temera’s room because her desk it too big and she is so over it. The treadmill will go in the office (where my desk used to be) and we’ll re-organize David’s desk. Oh yea… and I’m going to finally make that headboard I’ve been meaning to do for the past 12 years. Jodi Rosen… HELP!
And to top it all off, we’re heading to Lowe’s to get stuff to patch Temera’s walls and finally redo her bedroom. Ooohhh…. it’s gonna be so pretty.
Ah… you can take the girl out of the interior design business, but you can’t take the design out of the girl.

I think that sounds great, plus isn’t it FAB to get a clean, fresh start? I think so. Can’t wait to see how it all turns out.
Love you!

Haha sounds like you’re taking on a few more projects! Exciting though. I think it’s fun to create some changes

Good job!!! I think any time a big change needs to happen - you gotta realize what you’re doing now to see how to make the transition easier. I loved our old condo because my desk was in the living room. It forced me to stay neat. I could “hang out” with Jon while he watched a movie. And I could easily upload pics while Aubrey played.
I do not like having my desk in my room. It’s so far from everything and it is ALWAYS a mess cuz no one (but us) sees it. When we move again, I will most likely have my desk/computer near where the family hangs out.
