Yes, I do it. I’m guilty of spring cleaning. I love getting my house all ready for the summer months so when the kids are home they can mess it all up again to get me ready for back-to-school cleaning. Seems like there is always some cleaning going on. The one place I dread cleaning most is my kids’ bathroom. Yuk!
It’s a really small bathroom and all three girls share it. THREE GIRLS! You can imagine the kind of “stuff” that ends up all over the place. None of them like to actually throw anything away, so I usually find empty bottles and tubes everywhere… even on the floor… right next to the dirty clothes and band-aid wrappers. This is a project.
Obviously, I started at Walmart (my go-to store for most things) and stocked up on some of the supplies I’d need to get the bathroom back in fighting shape. My Google+ album has my shopping expedition. Lauryn ended up coming with me since she was home sick from school. Hey… Mom still has to work, right?
We looked for the new Colgate Nickelodeon toothbrushes and Lauryn wanted the Dora the Explorer one.
Cleaning the kids’ bathroom is one of those things I probably should do a lot more often, but I hate it so much I try and have the kids do it themselves. Of course, that plan doesn’t work out very often. I find that I go in and just have to disinfect everything from top to bottom. Clorox wipes are my best friend. After the scrubdown, organization is key. I get rid of all the empties and try and get them back to some kind of organization.
So finally the bathroom is clean and organized. Hmmm… wonder how long that will last. Can’t wait until the kids see it all cleaned up… they may not recognize it.
If you are doing any spring cleaning yourself, don’t forget to replace toothbrushes first. They really do wear out and it’s always nice to have a fresh, new toothbrush to start your spring off right. The Colgate Nickelodeon line is really fun and I’m hoping it will make Lauryn a lot more likely to brush her teeth without me reminding her all the time. Check out Colgate on Twitter and Facebook as well to keep up on all the newest products.
