It’s the first day of the rest of your life. Okay, technically EVERY day is the first day of the rest of your life. But… it’s January 2nd which means no more holidays, no more parties, no more “what ifs”. It’s time to start doing all those things that you’ve been talking about doing the past few days. I’ve got a lot going on this year and I’m taking steps to make sure it’s my best year yet.

It’s going to be a busy year for us. These are just a few of the items on the agenda.

1. David and I are taking ballroom dance lessons.

2. We’re preparing for Temera’s bat mitzvah.

3. My brother is getting married.

4. We are taking all the kids to see New York City for the first time.

5. I’m going to BLOGHER!!!!

6. I’m going to Bloggy Boot Camp in Las Vegas.

I’ve got a lot to look forward to.

I mentioned in a previous post that I’m starting a Declutter program in my house. Today is Day 2. The task for Day 1 was “Think about who you want to be this year.” I spent a lot of time yesterday thinking about that. Today’s task is “set up a donation station”. I am going to find a place in my garage to put all the things I plan on donating as I clear my house of clutter. Come on, do it with me.

I also signed up (again) for Weight Watchers Online. A few years ago I lost 17 pounds on WW. While some of that has creeped back up, I’ve managed to keep a good part of it off. I think it’s time to get the rest off once and for all.

And this afternoon Amanda is taking her first ballroom dance lesson. Yep, my daughter is going to be a dancer. Of course, she also wanted to be a singer and a guitar player and we all know how that turned out.

This is the year of possibilities. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
