Mother’s Day v. Father’s Day

Mother’s Day is coming up.  You know that.  My husband has commented on the fact that Mother’s Day always comes first… before Father’s Day.  You know why?  Mom’s know why. 

It’s so us Mom’s could wait and see how our day goes (sleeping, presents, flowers and dinners) so we would know how to reciprocate with the Dads.  That’s right.  It’s tit for tat.  You let US sleep in and serve US breakfast in bed and buy US great presents and bring US beautiful flowers and take US out to a lovely dinner… well, then maybe, just maybe, we’ll let YOU sleep in and serve YOU breakfast in bed and buy YOU great presents and bring YOU flowers (or power tools, whatever) and take YOU out to a lovely dinner.

So, Dads… keep in mind you get as good as you give. 

This, of course, in no way is meant to represent my OWN husband who always (usually) treats me like a Queen on Mother’s Day and always gets me something special (although he isn’t very good at keeping it a secret).  I promise to do better with your Father’s Day this year.  I’ve been lacking.  But I have plans.  Let’s see how Mother’s Day goes.
