It’s true. There really is a National Donut Day and today is the day! In fact, it’s the 75th Annual National Donut Day. Seriously. Who knew?
“In 1938, ‘National Doughnut Day’ was created by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I as part of a fundraising effort during the Great Depression.” - newsnet5.com
I can’t even remember the last time I had a donut… but who am I to stand in the face of a National Holiday? I think I need to go out and buy some donuts to show my support of this 75 year old tradition.
Going to celebrate?
Krispy Kreme is giving away a free donut to each customer, no purchase necessary.
Dunkin Donuts is giving a free donut with any beverage purchase.
Go out and eat donuts!
