I think it every year. I don’t often do it, but I think it. I don’t write it down because I’m terrified that if I write it down then I have to follow through. And that scares me, because I used to be organized. I think it was back in 199-something, before the kids came along and any semblance of organization went completely out the window.
I want to be organized. I want to be that person who has color-coded files and fancy notebooks and a file with organized take-out menus. I want to have drawers where I can see what is inside when I open them up. I want cabinets full of matching dishes and coffee mugs. I want towel sets that come in the same colors and I want to be able to find the dog license when animal control comes knocking on the door.
It would be nice to not see the stack of papers to-be-filed that is creeping up towards the ceiling in my office. It would be nice to see my office floor.
ENOUGH!
I can’t take it anymore. I want… no, I NEED to be organized. The time has come. From my kitchen to my bathroom to my office to my garage… this is the year that I WILL get organized. I said it here first. Out loud. For everyone to see. Damn… now I have to make it happen.
Phew… okay. Deep breaths. Who’s with me?

I’ve been thinking the same thing too! I think my issue is I have so much going on all the time that then everything becomes chaos. So, if I have a plan and make schedules, write everything down and have a place for everything, my life won’t be chaotic, right? At least I hope so!
What is your plan? I’d love to follow along with any blog posts that may help motivate me! I’ve bought a planner and a filing cabinet and that is as far as I got, lol.

Oh it is my goal to, to take it to the next step and get really organized. You should check out the Power of Mom’s MOM Organizational system, it helps with everything from e-mail, to the piles of papers on the counter, to really just life- all with the idea that if those “lists in your head” are organized and taken care of then you can be more present in the morning. It really has changed my life. I don’t follow it all as perfectly as I should be it has totally helped me.

I think that’s been my goal since I moved out from my parents ___ years ago. I”m happy to say that the last year or so has actually shown me I can make progress getting organized. Now, if I can just keep up the momentum! We’ll have to be accountability buddies OK?

I do this every year, organize drawers, cabinets , closets and for the life of me they dont stay that way for long. When we were a family of 5 living together it was worse but now with just 3 of us you would think it was easier. We even down sized from @3,000sqft home to @ 1,800sqft home, got rid of a lot of junk and still have a lot left. Now that was 1 1/2 years ago, time flies by with volunteering at at school, PTO, cooking , cleaning , laundry and school stuff……,is there time? Yes but i do get lazy, just another cup of tea and I’ll do it or I’ll check FB just one more time or I better do this before on and on it goes….I know you’ve been ther done that so I won’t go on with that.
I must say we did organize the garage so that will be off my list.
So……with all that said.
I stand with you and take the challenge to get organized! We have family coming in Febuary for a week so I have to get the guest room in order(a little motivation ) to get my ass moving. I will start with a before and after pic, and just dive in.
What day will this fire storm be hitting the SCV?
I’m a purger so I’m fairly organized .. if I buy a new top, then I have to chuck something that I haven’t worn in a year or so .. this sort of works, but always room for improvement
