What Do You Crave?

Okay, I admit that I am the type of person who just has to try out all the newest products. I like being “in the know” about the latest trends. My husband is always coming to me telling me about something he just saw or heard about… and I always tell him, “Yea, I already knew about it.”

There is a new company called “Crave”. Intrigued? I was. You sign up for a Crave Box each month and in the box you will find a variety of new products that you can try out… you know, be the first in line. It does cost money… $10 per month. But, I thought I would give it a try and see how these new products really measure up.

I was really excited when my box came. I love getting gifts so I was anxious to see what goodies awaited me.

This was the selection of products I received. I’ll go through them all to let you know what I got and what I thought of them.

One of the items I received was a 3.5 oz. Perugina candy bar. Dark Chocolate with Almonds. I am not a huge dark chocolate fan… and I can’t stand almonds. So, basically, my darling husband will be getting a little treat when he gets home from work tonight. I have to admit I’m a little disappointed because it would have been nice to get a candy bar just for me. Oh well. The candy bar retails for $1.75.

I also received a box of Baci (by Perugina) chocolates. I think they are like truffles and the box has two small candies inside. Unfortunately, again with the nuts. There are chopped hazelnuts inside. Oh honey…. If you are interested, you can buy a 6 oz. Holiday Box of 12 for $7.49 - not a bad deal.

The next product was a body balm. Mereadesso is the brand, although I have never heard of it before. Basically, it’s body lotion. And it stinks. And when I say stinks… I mean, not in a good way. When I go to put on some lotion, I want a nice, pleasant scent. This isn’t it. It’s not a thick lotion, it’s rather thin, not that I minded that. It had a nice feel to my skin when it dried, but I don’t think I can get past the odor. It retails for $54 which I just think is insane.

I also got two packs of Bic for Her pens. One pack was a gel pen and the other was a ballpoint pen. The pens were okay and they wrote nice (the gel took a little while to flow evenly but then worked fine). I’m just not sure why they are geared towards women. Maybe the pretty pink and purple colors?

The last product I want to show you is a new Nic’s Sticks by OPI. I’ve heard goods and bads about this nail polish pen so I was really anxious to try this out. A lot of people complained about the color they received in the Crave Box (Stick with Me NS 002). It is basically a very light color, almost looks like you don’t have any color on at all. Personally, I like colors like this. I don’t always want to wear bright reds or pinks but I still like to have some kind of polish on. You twist off the cap and there is a little brush with the color seeping into it. You paint your nails like you would do with a nail polish bottle but it’s just the brush. It went on easily and didn’t clump up on me. I put on two coats and while I liked the color, it does go on a little sticky. I think it’s supposed to be fast drying but I don’t think it dried any faster than regular nail polish. Even after it did dry completely, it still felt a little sticky to me. I would keep a stick of this in my bag if I was traveling, but I don’t think I would use it on a regular basis. You can buy them on Amazon for $4.99. Not a bad price considering some nail polish costs way over $10.00.

So there you have it… my first Crave Box. Would I get it again? I think I would give it another chance and see what they send me next month. I don’t think it was worth the $10 for what I got since I didn’t find any fabulous new products that I would go raving to my friends about. But, considering it’s their first box and they are getting feedback from all of us, let’s see what improvements they will make.
