On Monday, I was invited to attend a very special taping of The Ricki Lake Show. The “special” about this was that the audience would be full of bloggers and social media devotees and we would be live-tweeting during the entire show. If you have every been to a television taping of any kind, you know how unheard of this is. I’ve been to many tapings before and the first thing the security people do is take your cell phone, cameras, iPads away from you. They are not allowed in the studio for any reason.
Ricki Lake, being very involved in social media personally, decided it would be a great opportunity to allow bloggers to tweet, facebook and photograph her show. The excitement was evident as we all sat waiting to head into the studio, many of us using the charging stations that were provided by the show to charge up our electronic devices.
And as fun as the “outside” was, the “inside” was even better.

So happy to see all of this! the pictures, the video and read the tweets! I am excited and watched yesterday’s first show. I loved all the information that was shared and experiences. I have noticed she loves Social Media and I think it is absolutely great! she is taking it a step further and taking the time to engage her audience and their stories.
