My Facebook feed has been overflowing with posts by parents sharing their teens acceptance letters to colleges. It’s exciting to see considering I’ll be there myself in a few years. The big concern for us is how we are going to pay for it. I’m betting it’s probably the first thing on your mind too. We’ve talked about having our kids apply for as many scholarships as possible, so it was good to know there is another one we can add to our list.
APPLICATION PERIOD FOR THE 2014 RONALD McDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES® OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM CLOSING JANUARY 21.
Did you know about this one? Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) of Southern California has $338,000 in scholarship funds to help 109 deserving SoCal high school seniors from diverse backgrounds who reside in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties.
So here are the details:
- Applicants must be seniors currently enrolled in high school and eligible to attend either a 2 or 4 year post-secondary school once they graduate. They must be legal U.S. residents and under 21 years of age with a minimum 2.7 grade point average.
- If interested, the application period closes January 21, 2014. Visit https://aim.applyists.net/RMHC to apply.
- For more than 35 years, RMHC of Southern California has been committed to providing comfort, care and support to children and families in Southern California. RMHC of Southern California is dedicated to creating a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage and joy by operating six Ronald McDonald Houses, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms and a Community Grants Board.
It’s kind of a no-brainer. If you know a high school senior heading to college next fall, go apply for a scholarship. And come back and let me know if you get it. You know we’ll be applying in a few years.
FYI… This is not a sponsored post. I’m writing it because I think the information is valuable to my readers.

Good information to know. I’m in denial that my baby will ever be going to college.

I’m freaking out that my baby is starting high school in August. I’m so not ready for any of this.
