My new little gem is the Walgreens tucked away behind my house… back in a residential area where you wouldn’t expect to find a drug store. It’s not new, but I didn’t really need to go in there for any reason until a few months ago. Once I did, I fell in love. Shhh…. I wouldn’t want the word to get out.
Walgreens is everything that I used to love as a child. Remember when you would go on vacation and you’d need something like flip flops or suntan lotion or an extra towel, and you’d run into a drug store that always seemed to have everything? Walgreens IS that store. They have it all: clothes, shoes, medications, beauty products, food, books, and they even develop photos (do people still do that?). Every time I enter the sliding glass doors, I’ll find something that I absolutely must have. Once I realized that they had an online app and you could actually clip virtual coupons on it, I was kind of seduced all over again.
I am going on record that I absolutely HATE clipping coupons. Seriously… it’s just not my thing. I love saving money, but who has time to sort through flyers and print coupons off the computer? I don’t. The Walgreens app is so cool because you can just flip through the online circular and virtually tap on the coupons you want. They go into your own little coupon section and then you just show them to the clerk on your way out the door. This is the kind of couponing I can manage. Paperless Coupons Rock!
Now let me say one thing before we continue… if you have downloaded the Walgreens app a while ago, please make sure you UPDATE the app to the current version. I didn’t do that and spent way too much time wondering where on earth I was supposed to clip coupons from on the mobile site. Sheesh!
So here’s the deal on how to figure this all out. It’s really pretty simple.
1. Download the Walgreens app on your mobile phone.
2. Sign up either in the store, on your computer or on mobile for a Balance Rewards Card. I signed up in the store ages ago so all I had to do is make sure my computer and mobile were synced to my card.
3. When you get into the app, make sure you set your particular store location to see specific ads for that area.
4. Click on “Weekly Ad & Coupons” to check out the Weekly Ad for your store location AND make sure you click on the scissor icon to check out the extra Manufacturer Coupons that are available as well.
5. Once you have your virtual coupon list, GO SHOPPING! All you have to do is pick out your merchandise and check out as usual. Make sure to enter your phone number associated with your Balance Rewards Card or swipe your actual card or virtual card and your discounts will automatically be deducted. That’s it!
No paper. No cutting. No problem!
When I went to check out the online coupons, I found a ton of school supplies that we need so so so badly. Of course, the kids never get their supply lists until the first day of class and then we’re running around trying to see if there are still good deals on everything. Well, Walgreens had some amazing deals on the stuff we needed… protractors, flexible rulers, colored pencils. It was a huge win for me. I started virtually clipping those coupons as fast as my little hands could click.
I got everything I needed for the kids and I saved a bunch of money on TOP of the already reduced prices because I had the Paperless Coupons. Loving me some Walgreens!
See how much I saved? I didn’t even have to clip coupons. After you use the paperless coupons on your phone, they will automatically get taken off your account.
We are SO ready to start school! Thanks Walgreens!

Just the other night, coming back from vacation, we realized we left the kids’ toothbrushes… super tired we went straight to Walgreens. No waiting, checked coupons in the store and were out and home super quick! So convenient. I understand why you fell in love. #client
