I am proud to introduce you to a new organization, Mom Bloggers for Social Good, of which I am a Founding Member.
There are probably millions of bloggers out there and too many Mom Bloggers to even count, with our ranks growing ever day. I’ve had my blog for a few years now and blogging has definitely changed in that time period. I have been one of the lucky ones who have been able to stick with it despite the long hours, the hardships, the nights when I thought I would just close up shop. I have seen online mother-to-mother bullying, painful break-ups and abuse, women who disappeared from my social media circles overnight never to be heard from again. Some stories are heartbreaking. Other stories are inspiring. I wanted to make sure I was one of those Mom Bloggers (and yes, I wear that badge proudly) who actually stood up and did something GOOD with my blog (my voice).
As bloggers (and mothers) we are in a unique position to actually made a very real difference. I’ve seen it first hand. I’ve seen women institute real change… in the way we shop, feed our families, affect our home lives and enrich our children’s lives. Why not, then, take it further and reach out to the world? Why not make a real difference in the things that matter most? Clean water, plentiful food, access to medical care, safety for women and children. These are the things that are important to me. These are the things that are important to Mom Bloggers for Social Good.
“Mom Bloggers for Social Good is a global coalition of mom bloggers who currently span eleven countries – United States, Canada, UK, India, Spain, Nigeria, Singapore, Netherlands, Malaysia, Jamaica, and the Philippines – who care about spreading the good news about the amazing work non-profit organizations and NGOs are doing around the world. When our partners need to reach the masses about new initiatives, advocacy campaigns, or fundraising efforts we work collectively to spread the word through social media and blogging.”
If you are a blogger, take a look at Mom Bloggers for Social Good and let your voice be heard. Together, we can do miraculous things.
