Have you heard about the Lifestyle Bloggers Conference? Because that’s what all my energy has been focused on these last few months.
I know the people surrounding me have heard bits and pieces over the last few months, but I thought I’d lay it all out for you so you can see the complete picture.
You’ve heard me talk about SoCal Lady Bloggers, right? Let me explain. SoCal Lady Bloggers (SCLB) started out in August of 2011 as a Facebook networking and support group for women bloggers who live in Southern California. I came back from BlogHer in San Diego with the idea that I wanted to get together a group of women who could be as tight as the groups I had seen in San Diego. Los Angeles is a huge city and while there are many LA based blogging groups, not one of them had the comraderie that I was looking for. When Megan McClain and Sidney Patrick started an actual Facebook group (called SCLB) soon after the conference, I casually asked them if they needed any help. I wanted to be a part of this group… one that I had been hoping for. They put me down as an administrator for the group (which basically means I would be able to add people, delete people, make changes, etc.) and things blossomed from there.
Changes took place.
We lost Sidney last October. Just last month Megan decided she was going to focus her energies on her family, new baby and other endeavors. That left me holding the bag, so to speak. But it was a mostly empty bag that I knew needed to be filled.
In less than two years, our little group has grown to over 300 members. We have some of the most incredible bloggers I know. I have been fortunate to have met a large majority of them, and my inner circle of friends has grown dramatically. I have what I set out to have back in August 2011.
And where do we go from here?
Behind the curtain, I’ve been working with the Latina Lifestyle Bloggers (LLB) to produce the Third Annual Lifestyle Bloggers Conference. Yes… me. I always harbored a secret dream to put on a blogging conference and I am seeing that dream come true. I’m a small fish in a very large pond, but still… SCLB will have their name associated with a large blogging conference. I am so excited!
I think it was serendipity that I happened to meet Ana Lydia Monaco (Founder of LLB) and we quickly realized we both had the same vision. We wanted to help connect bloggers with businesses and educate them on building their own brand. We both have a passion for blogging and believe that when one of us succeeds, we all succeed.
So… the Lifestyle Bloggers Conference is coming up fast. April 25 - 27 to be exact. We decided to keep it small and intimate and there is only space for 100 people. We believe small conferences give people the opportunity to really get to meet each other. We also are a one-track conference. That means there are no break-out sessions. Everyone gets to spend the day together learning from the same amazing speakers. One of the things we both always hated about some conferences is that you had to pick and choose which sessions to attend. This way, you get it all.
I think we’ve assembled an incredible list of speakers. Attendees will learn from fashion designers, PR pros, bloggers, and social media experts. We want everyone to come away with tools they can use to build their own brand. I’m confident they all will.
We’ve had an outpouring of sponsors happen within the last few days. It seems the more people we talk to about this unique conference, the more people want to be involved. Names like Balance Water and Burke Williams and Fresh Brothers. We have swag bags filled with books and jewelry and clothing. The items keep pouring in. Pretty soon my garage will look like a storage locker. (Sorry, David.)
This conference means everything to me and I want to see familiar faces there… lots of them. If you are a new blogger or an experienced blogger, please consider coming. If you are even thinking about taking the leap and starting a blog (and I know many of my friends are), this would be a great first conference for you. It’s small, it’s local and it’s going to be fabulous!
If interested, please let me know… I’m happy to answer any questions you have AND I can give you a discount code to use when purchasing your ticket.

Nice to know the story behind the conference. Great initiative and I like that it is a small event. I am planning to attend.
