There is something about Labor Day that really signifies summer is over and the fall is beginning. I’m not entirely sad about that because I really do love the fall - the seasons, the weather, the holidays. But… Labor Day means you have one last long weekend to say good-bye to summer and what better way to do that than with good friends, BBQ and frozen cocktails.
I’m usually a margarita girl but I was asked to try out the new Arbor Mist Frozen Wine Cocktails so I figured Labor Day was the perfect time to do it. These drinks are wild… they come in a packet that you stick in the freezer. Kind of wish I had come up with that one. The alcohol is included in the pouch so you don’t have to mix anything at all. And you don’t have to use a blender. It’s a kind of amazing, super easy, takes all the work out of it, kind of drink. In fact… definitely MY kind of drink.
So there are 3 different flavors: Blackberry Merlot, Strawberry White Zinfandel and White Pear Pinot Grigio.
The pouches are a little odd but kind of fun. They remind me of an adult juice pouch. The best thing about them is that the wine is already included so there is no mixing or blending of drinks.
There isn’t a lot to it… just stick the pouch in the freezer for at least 5 hours, open and squeeze into a glass and enjoy your drink.
I put all the pouches in the freezer the morning of Labor Day and was hoping that they would all freeze up by the time we were ready for dinner.
We opened the Pinot Grigio with White Peach first. The consistency was pretty good… nice and slushy. I’m not a big Pinot fan so I wasn’t loving this, but I gave it to my husband to try and he really liked it a lot. I definitely tasted like a wine cooler, but a lot more refreshing because it was more like a blended drink.
I opened the Merlot Blackberry next. Now this wasn’t quite as slushy as the Pinot but it was cold and a little slushy and I really loved this one. I’m a huge Merlot fan so the addition of the blackberry flavoring was really yummy. It’s a little on the sweet side but since I like sweet, this was definitely something I would want to drink again. My husband wasn’t a fan… but then again, he liked the Pinot better.
The last flavor we tried was the White Zinfandel Strawberry. Okay… really, really yummy! This seemed to freeze the best out of all of the flavors and I loved the strawberry flavor. This tasted to me much more like a daiquiri.
We spent a great day at our friend’s pool this Labor Day, having BBQ and drinking Arbor Mist Frozen Wine Cocktails.

I was sent samples of Arbor Mist Frozen Wine Cocktails for review through my affiliation with SheSpeaks. To learn more about SheSpeaks, follow them on Twitter. Follow Arbor Mist on Twitter as well. All opinions are my own.

I’ve been seeing these around and have been curious about them… I think I may have to try them out in the future.. My only concern is them being frozen… I’ve learned the older I get the more I’m finding out I’m not a fan of “slushy” drinks.
