Get Your BOOTS On! The Cosmetics Kind.

by Carolyn West on February 25, 2013

I’m one of those people who love to try new products. While I do get attached to ones that work really well, I’m not beyond seeking out something new and different. The subject of Boots Cosmetics came up recently and my first thought was, “What?”

They are a brand sold in Target stores (a store that I happen to frequent way more than normal) so I was surprised that I didn’t know about them. Surprise, surprise, I needed to go to Target to get supplies for my daughter’s book report, so I headed over to the beauty section to see what I was missing.

OHHHHHH! THAT’s Boots Cosmetics! Of course I had seen them before. I know the logo. I just never really stopped to check out the products before. I was a little shocked that they had such a huge line, everything from skin care to makeup to botanicals. I have to say, the selection was so large that I was a little lost. Which one would be right for me?

Boots actually provides Beauty Advisers in many of the Target stores (but not all) to answer questions and help you find the right products for your skin type. I didn’t think my Target would have an Advisor, but I was really pleasantly surprised that they DO. Unfortunately for me, she wasn’t there at the time I was in the store. I can totally see how she would be valuable when shopping for skin care items. They have products for acne, young skin, old skin, sensitive skin, you name it.

You normally only see such a wide variety in a department store. Did I mention I kind of hate shopping in department stores? I get so intimidated by the Beauty Advisers there. The fact that “Sara Ann” left notes when she’d be back made me love her right away. Although she wasn’t there when I was, I am definitely going back to talk to her. I have a ton of questions.

If you want to see my entire shopping expedition, you can see it HERE on Google+.

I ended up purchasing the Lift & Luminate Night Cream because… well, at my age I could use some lifting and illuminating. I actually got really excited when I came home and opened the little blue box. I’m in love with the container. It totally looks like something I would find on one of those super expensive makeup counters in a large department store. Love the silvery blue color… but the cream inside is white. And not greasy. And smells nice.

I also really liked their lipstick. The color wasn’t waxy or sticky (as so many lipsticks are) and it didn’t smell like lipstick You know what I mean… that weird lipsticky smell.

So, I’m going to be heading back to speak with my Beauty Adviser and ask her what the best products would be for my daughter and for every day use for me. And I’m super excited to see the new colors that are coming out for spring.

Have you tried Boots Cosmetics? Would love to hear what you think of them.

I’ve always wanted to try Boots but I’m so strange with make-up. I buy it like once every 2 years and promise I’ll wear it and then I don’t - I need to but I’m just lazy.

I have tried their lipsticks and loved them! How cool that they have beauty advisors. I will have to check my Target. I buy my eye makeup and lipstick from Target.

I love Boots, but admit that I thought it was called No. 7;) I have spoked to the advisors several times, & appreciate they alos will offer me help on other lines they’re not endorsing. I use their cleanser & toner, in the green bottle!
