It’s Saturday! Time for Cars 2. Since it’s opening weekend and I know there will be long lines to get in, I already purchased my tickets through Fandango. If you haven’t purchased through Fandango before, it’s super easy and I love the convenience of it. They have an easy website and they also have a Mobile Fandango App so you can order tickets any time. Since I’m in the process of getting a new mobile phone, I just used the website. See my ticket purchase here on INTERSECT.
The good thing about Fandango is that when you want to go see a newly released movie, you can pay for and print your tickets at home and then just show up at the theater. No waiting in line. Okay, maybe you have to wait in line to get a seat, but you don’t have to stand in a line of 100 people just to find out the movie is sold out. Yes, it’s happened to me before. I was fortunate enough that I even had discounted tickets for Fandango that I purchased through several different online bargain sites. It was easy to input the coupon code and Fandango automatically deducted the amount from the ticket price. I purchased my tickets two days in advance, before the movie officially opened.
The only issue I had with the entire Fandango ordering process was the fact that once you pick your movie and time, they only give you 7 minutes with which to complete your order. Sounds like a lot of time, but when you are inputting in your Regal Crown Club Card (theater rewards card) AND several coupon discount codes AND your credit card number… well, you run out of time. I did and I wasn’t happy about it. But… I re-entered everything and got the tickets I wanted.

We got to the theater early since we weren’t sure if there would be a line to get in or not. There was.

The theater was packed full of families with children. Definitely a sold out show so it was a good thing we were able to order our tickets early. The lines to buy tickets were long and we might not have gotten a decent seat if we had waited to buy tickets until this morning.

So what did we think of the movie?
While it couldn’t possibly be as good as the original “Cars”, the sequel was a lot of fun to watch. Lots of car racing, chasing and spy intrigue. And at the heart of it all… the true meaning of friendship. The real star of this movie was Mater… that lovable tow truck who may not be polished and pretty, but he has a heart of gold and is a loyal friend to the end. And… another great soundtrack!
It’s so rare that there are movies out that the entire family can enjoy. I was happy to see that the previews before the movie started were all great family films that we are looking forward to seeing: Spy Kids 4, Happy Feet 2, a new Muppet Movie and Winnie the Pooh.

You also might want to think about ordering tickets on Fandango for some of the upcoming summer blockbusters. Transformers: Dark of the Moon opens June 29th and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 opens on July 15th.
