It’s Sunday. Although it doesn’t really feel like Sunday. David is working and also worked yesterday. There is just something wrong about him working on the weekends. But… we have some A/C repairs to pay for. Which brings me to my other issue… we STILL have no A/C. It went out last Sunday, probably as I was sitting on a plane back to Los Angeles from BlogHer in New York City, where the humidity caused me to sweat off 3 pounds. Awesome.
Unfortunately, the heat here in LA caused me to put back on those 3 pounds (and then some). I guess in NY I sweated off the weight, and in LA I just retain it. Damn.
This week (without any air) has been a wash for me. I’ve gotten nothing done, but seeing that I really haven’t a clue where I’m actually going with my blog, I guess that’s not so bad. Okay, I have a “clue” but I haven’t developed it into a full-fledged plan yet. Working on it.
The kids start school on Thursday and this weekend would usually be my time to organize the house, their bedrooms, backpacks, lunch boxes, shop for after-school snacks, etc. While we did some clothes shopping yesterday, that was more an excuse to be in an air conditioned mall rather than actually get anything accomplished. The laundry hasn’t been done in a week, the floor not swept or vacuumed, we are completely out of food (hard to purchase food when it’s too hot to eat), and the highlight of our days is jumping in the pool. Although, jumping into a pool of warm water isn’t really cooling off. Hard to keep the pool water cool in 100+ temps.
I’m looking forward to winter.
Seems I’m not the only one suffering through this heat. Just yesterday, I heard from a dozen of people who are having similar A/C issues. I’m looking out my back window right now and not one leaf on one tree is moving. Seriously, no breeze. None at all. I’d kill for some rain about now.
And yet… I’m sitting here at my kitchen table drinking hot coffee. Go figure.

Our A/C is broken as well- the motor died, so we sit here and sweat…and I am also, currently, drinking hot coffee…LOL…
*hugs* I wish I had a pool where I can invite you all to come over and use. But hopefully your ac will get fixed as soon as possible. I do hear it’s supposed to cool off for a couple of days before going back up again. ^_^

I know, it has been soooo hot! My poor garden and roses are just fried. The roses barely open up and then just burn
I will be so happy when sweater weather is here..
