An Afternoon with Fresh Brothers

by Carolyn West on August 26, 2012

On Saturday, I took my family down to Brentwood to have lunch at a new pizza place that just opened. Maybe you’ve heard of it…. FRESH BROTHERS? I say that in kind of a flip way because if you’ve been following me, or you’re part of SoCal Lady Bloggers (my networking group) then you have most definitely heard of it. If you are a non-blogger, then you really should know about it.

My online friend Debbie Goldberg (officially my real-life friend since I finally met her in person yesterday), started this chain of California pizza restaurants with her husband in 2008 and currently have 7 locations with an 8th slated to open in Santa Monica in the fall of 2012. This was the first time I actually had the chance to try them out since their future Santa Clarita location hasn’t opened yet. (I’m working on getting them up here, folks, so bear with me.)

Amazing.

Really.

Now I love me some pizza, so I’m pretty picky about what I like and don’t like. Fresh Brothers does pan pizza’s and deep dish pizzas and OMG they are really good. And… as good as the pizza is, my family’s new favorite are the Garlic BBQ Chicken Wings. I kid you not… these are addicting. We actually had to bring home an order for dinner because my kids were all over them and wanted more.

So, pizza, wings, garlic knots (served with marinara sauce… my mouth is watering), and a huge selection of salads, make up their menu. Nothing fancy, but just really good, fresh food. What other restaurant do you know that gets their fresh food delivered 4 times a week? Can’t get much fresher than that. They also have an entire Gluten-Free menu. All of their food is cooked in the pizza oven, nothing is fried. Love that! As a family, you can actually go out to eat together and be able to order food for everyone.

At the Grand Opening, my kids got to make their own pizzas and we had the chance to sample the amazing food. And we got some really awesome T-Shirts. I also got to meet Tee Burgess for the first time and see Brigitta Schumacher again. All in all, a really fun day. Any time my kids say they had fun, I know it was a success.

Fun with the Fresh Brothers Pizza Man.

They look just like twins, don’t they?

My family and I were invited to the Grand Opening of Fresh Brothers in Brentwood. We were provided lunch and the cute t-shirts. We weren’t given any monetary compensation and, in fact, WE ended up contributing to the restaurant’s bottom line since we ordered salad and wings to take home for dinner.
