Spring Makeover with Renuzit #FreshAccents

I love spring – love the sunshine, the warmth, the colors. Spring cleaning is in full force in my house so I wanted to update my boring old living room to bring some of the fun of spring indoors.

The best thing about the spring is all the wonderful scents in the air. I love the smell of blooming flowers, fresh cut grass and the way the earth smells after it rains. It all smells so clean and I wanted my house to mimic those spring scents. Renuzit has a new line of air fresheners called Fresh Accents that help bring spring indoors. I went shopping for Fresh Accents at my local Vons and you can see my shopping experience on Google +. If you go to Renuzit on Facebook, you can download a coupon good for $1.00 their new Fresh Accents line and you can check out some eye candy on their Gorgeous Man page.

After The Rain scent is phenomenal.

So in deciding what to do with my living room, I had a pretty ugly canvas to work with. I have no color at all in the room, beige walls and black leather sofas (which are falling apart) so I really needed to get creative with my makeover.

As you can see, it’s not a very interesting room. My goal is to bring some bright spring color into the mix. I decided to use some of what I already had and give it a little updating.

Old tired white tray.

Newly painted pretty yellow tray.

Boring lampshade.

Super cute lampshade.

Plain Jane curtains.

Jazzed up curtains.

Using what you have already is a great way to save a lot of money. Spray paint only costs about $5.00 per can and I bought paper flowers for the lampshade and curtains that only cost me $1.00 for two packages.

Ready for spring.

New pitcher, flowers, candles. Old tray, candlesticks.

Bright splashes of color make me happy.

Renuzit Fresh Accents air freshener looks great anywhere.

Brightening up the table.

Glass bowls and fresh fruit add so much color!

It is hard to redecorate when you have so much black in the room, so bringing in bright bursts of color really helped bring the Spring indoors for me. I love the colors and my makeover was a combination of items I already had in my home and some inexpensive accents like the pillows, blanket, newΒ  white pitcher with fresh flowers and paper cut-outs for the lampshade and curtains. HELLO SPRING!

I was excited to see if my kids would like our new, brighter living room. They did, they loved it. They also wondered why the house smelled so clean and fresh. It was the Renuzit Fresh Accents air freshener. After leaving the house and coming back to it, you really did notice how fresh it smelled. Now I have to go back and buy more for my kids’ rooms before they steal the one in the living room.

Thanks! I really need to get a rug for the room but I’m so afraid the puppy will do her business all over it.

I’m not normally a fan of yellow, but I felt like having something really bright and cheery in the room. My daughter’s favorite color is yellow too and she wants the tray in her room.

Thank you so much. After having a very dark and muted living room for so long, I was really desperate for some color.
