Woke up Sunday morning to David telling us that he wants to do something fun today. You know… have a Fun Family Day. I let out a big SIGH! because in order to have a Fun Family Day you need to actually get OUT of the house first. I wanted to share with you our day… enjoy!
Mom: Girls, you need to take showers, brush teeth and get dressed.
Mom: Because your Dad wants to go out and do something fun today.
Girls: We never do anything fun.
Mom: Maybe because you don’t ever listen and get ready. Go shower.
20 minutes later….
Mom: Why aren’t you in the shower yet?
Girls: We’ve been busy.
Mom: Go get in there and get ready or we aren’t going anywhere today.
20 minutes later…
Mom: (with voiced raised) Why haven’t you gotten into the shower? I don’t get it. You complain we never do anything and then you refuse to get ready to go out!
Girls: (screaming at the top of their lungs) Stop yelling at us. You always yell at us.
Mom: (rather calmly) Because you never listen and get ready.
Girls: No words, just a lot of whining and tongues sticking out at me.
And yes… this is how most of our days go.
And why wasn’t I supervising them (when they had a father perfectly capable, yet unwilling, to do it?) Oh… I was waiting at my computer for ONE HOUR on the Ticketmaster website to buy presale tickets to see TAYLOR SWIFT! And my ONE HOUR of patiently waiting on the damn website to buy tickets FOR MY GIRLS to see their idol got me what? NOTHING!!!!! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! Because after ONE HOUR of waiting, Ticketmaster let me know that there was an ERROR in the system and they KICKED ME OUT!!!!!
Yes… I just wasted half of my day. And the girls still weren’t ready.
Jump to about 3:00 PM! Yes… 3:00 PM! We finally made it out of the house.
And went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream. Why? Because Daddy used up all the eggs this morning and didn’t remember to leave one for Amanda so she could make a fried egg for breakfast. Which is what happens when you don’t wake up until 10:00!!!! You miss out!!! So Daddy said to make up for his oversight, he would take her for ice cream.
We had ice cream.
Then we went to the market. We bought food. We came home.
Fun Family Day!
