Can an Over-the-Counter Face Cream Be Magic?

by Carolyn West on January 31, 2013

This little tube of Loreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream (that’s a really long title) came in the mail the other day.

Now, I love trying new products, but I’m also a little hesitant when I see a product that has the word “magic” in the title. The idea behind this Beautifier BB Cream is that it provides you with FOUR beautifying actions.

1. The all-in-one cream primes and smooths your skin.

2. The cream hides your flaws.

3. Your skin is hydrated all day.

4. It corrects and evens skin tone.

This cream contains ingredients such as Panthenol, Vitamin E and Glycerin for 24 hour moisturization.

Now as some of you know, I am no longer considered “young”. Wow, that hurts to say. However, it’s true, and my skin is drying out like crazy. And we all know that dry skin leads to wrinkles and uneven tone and all kinds of bad stuff. So, yes, I was pretty anxious to try out the cream.

As skeptical as I am, I am a little in awe of this Magic BB Cream. The product claims to give you the “sheer coverage you need to create a natural bare skin finish.” AND IT DOES. It’s a little mysterious how this simple little cream can really even out my skin while moisturizing it and actually making my bare skin look, dare I say… GOOD. I noticed a huge difference in only a few days. It really did cover my dark spots and smooth out my skin. It didn’t work as well as makeup, it’s perfect for running out of the house. I think it might be Magic!

The cream retails for $10.95 and I think it’s a great product if you tend to not to wear makeup on a regular basis. The cream comes out of the tube white, but it blends in with your skin tone really well. You can get different shades… I chose the “light”. It doesn’t look like you have anything at all on your face. Love that. Although my husband thinks I should wear makeup more often, I honestly don’t see the point when all I’m doing is taking the kids to and from school. This cream makes me a little less self-conscious about my skin and I don’t have to spend time with makeup.

I was provided a complimentary tube of Loreal Paris Magic BB Cream though SheSpeaks. All opinions are entirely my own. #MagicBBCream

Sounds like a winner! I’m not a big makeup person but I know I could use it. I don’t love knowing I look worse than the “see the stars without makeup pictures”‘they use on the trash magazines just to make us “normal” people feel well, normal (no scratch that, all of those magazines are out there to make us feel badly about ourselves, who am I kidding?) but I digress…

Thanks for the review. I may need to try this…someday.

I really hate wearing makeup all the time but I DO need to cover up the dark patches. This was a rare winner for me.

I tried the BB Cream too and liked that it was nice and light. I hate caked on makeup. This evened out my skin nicely.

I’m glad you liked it. I wear it everyday now – so nice to not have to wear heavy makeup.
